Getting Started

What is StringBiz?

StringBiz is an all-in-one business management platform built specifically for tennis stringing professionals. It handles job tracking, string inventory, customer records, QR-coded racket labels, automated SMS and email reminders, and business analytics. It was built by a working stringer, so every feature exists because a real stringer needed it.

Do I need to install any software?

No. StringBiz runs entirely in your web browser. There is nothing to install or update. You can access it from any device with a browser — Mac, PC, tablet, or phone.

Does StringBiz work on mobile?

Yes. The app is fully responsive and optimised for phones and tablets. You can log jobs, check inventory, and look up customers from your phone while standing at the stringing machine.

How do I get started?

Create a free account at stringbiz.com/auth. No credit card required. The free plan is active immediately and you can start logging jobs, adding customers, and exploring the app right away.

Plans & Pricing

What is included in the free plan?

The free plan includes job tracking (up to 10 jobs/month), customer records (up to 10 customers), basic string inventory, and email notifications. It is free forever with no credit card required.

What happens when I reach a limit on the free plan?

StringBiz will let you know when you are approaching a limit and block new additions once you hit it. You will not lose any existing data. You can upgrade at any point to immediately unlock higher limits.

Is there a yearly pricing option?

Yes. Annual billing is available at a discounted rate compared to monthly. You can choose between monthly and yearly when upgrading from your account settings.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes, absolutely. You can cancel from your account settings with no penalty. Your paid access continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, then the account moves to the free tier. Your data is never deleted.

Is there a free trial for paid plans?

Yes. When you upgrade to Side Hustle or WeaveMaster you get a free trial period before your card is charged. You can explore every paid feature risk-free.

Do you offer discounts for high-volume pro shops or academies?

The WeaveMaster plan is designed for high-volume operations and includes multi-user team access and unlimited jobs. If you have a specific need, reach out via the Help Center and we will see what we can do.

Jobs & Daily Workflow

How many jobs can I log per month?

The free plan allows up to 10 jobs per month. The Side Hustle plan raises this to 100 jobs per month. WeaveMaster has no job limit at all.

Can I track multiple rackets for the same customer at once?

Yes. StringBiz supports group jobs — drop off 2, 4, or 10 rackets and track them all under one group. The app handles per-racket specs (tension, string, pattern) and sends a single combined notification when the last racket in the group is ready for pickup.

Does StringBiz support hybrid string setups with different mains and crosses?

Yes. When creating a job you can select separate strings for mains and crosses, each with their own tension. Inventory deducts half a set from each reel automatically, and the cost calculation reflects both strings correctly.

Can I track tensions in both pounds and kilograms?

Yes. Each job has a per-job lbs/kg toggle. Tensions are stored in both units and displayed in whichever you prefer throughout the dashboard, job cards, and printed job slips.

Can I track knot count per job?

Yes. Each job records whether it uses 4 knots or 2 knots. The default is 4 knots. Hybrid setups automatically lock to 4 knots. The knot count is shown on job cards and can be printed on job slips.

String Inventory

How does string inventory tracking work?

You add your string reels to the inventory with their starting length, cost per reel, and gauge. When you complete a job, StringBiz automatically deducts the appropriate length from the correct reel. If a reel runs too low to complete a full stringing, the app alerts you before you start. Cost per job is calculated from the weighted average cost of your reels.

What happens to my inventory on a hybrid job?

For a hybrid setup, StringBiz deducts half a set from the mains reel and half a set from the crosses reel. Each is logged separately so your inventory and cost tracking remain accurate.

Can I track restringing reminders for customers?

Yes. Each customer has a configurable restringing interval (for example, every 3 months). The system automatically schedules a reminder and sends it via the customer's preferred channel (SMS, WhatsApp, or email) when it is due.

QR Labels & Printing

What is a QR racket label and how does it work?

A QR label is a small waterproof adhesive label you stick directly to a racket frame. It contains a QR code that, when scanned, shows the complete stringing history for that racket — every string, tension, date, and stringer. Your customers can scan the label with any smartphone camera.

Which plan includes QR label printing?

QR labels are available on the Side Hustle plan and above. The free plan does not include QR labels.

What printers does StringBiz support?

StringBiz supports Brother P-touch label printers (12mm, 18mm, and 24mm tape), standard thermal label printers (1"x3", 1"x4", 2"x3", 4"x6"), and full-page printing on any standard office printer.

Do I need special hardware to print labels?

No special hardware is required. StringBiz uses your browser's built-in print dialog, so any printer your computer can see will work. For the best results on small adhesive labels, a Brother P-touch or thermal label printer is recommended but not required.

Notifications & Messaging

What automated notifications does StringBiz send?

StringBiz automatically sends: a job-ready notification the moment you mark a job complete; a 7-day pickup reminder if a racket has not been collected; a 30-day overdue pickup reminder; and a restringing reminder based on each customer's preferred interval.

Which plans include SMS and WhatsApp notifications?

SMS and WhatsApp notifications are available on the Side Hustle plan and above. The free plan supports email notifications only. When you downgrade from a paid plan, customer notification preferences switch to email automatically.

Does SMS and WhatsApp work for international customers?

Yes. StringBiz normalises phone numbers to the international E.164 format using each customer's country code. WhatsApp in particular is country-agnostic and works for customers anywhere in the world.

Can I customise the message templates?

Yes. Under Settings, you can fully customise the text for every automated SMS notification. WhatsApp messages use pre-approved Meta templates and cannot be freely edited, but the content has been designed to be professional and friendly out of the box.

Data & Security

Is my data secure?

Yes. StringBiz stores all data in a PostgreSQL database with encrypted connections. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Sessions are server-side and expire automatically. The platform runs on professional cloud infrastructure with daily backups.

Who can see my business data?

Only you and anyone you add as a team member (WeaveMaster plan). StringBiz staff can access data only for support purposes and never share it with third parties.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Analytics reports can be downloaded from the Analytics page. Customer and job data exports are available from within the app. If you ever cancel your account, you will have the opportunity to export everything before closure.
